Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Amulet and Wimpy Kids Diaries are the perfect reading books that my learning center students need to enrich their literary experiences.

Many of my students are non-readers and have not had a positive experience with reading.

The books I selected will provide good reading skills. For example, students can rely on pictures to help them decode the words. Also, this type of reading will help to expand their vocabulary. Students will use adorable pens, mechanical pencils, and a variety of Post-its to write summaries about the paragraphs they read. It is vital that I develop decoding and comprehension at the same time.

It is important that I provide my students with appealing and appropriate tools that will pique their interest and natural curiosity.
