My students are hardworking, flexible, and resilient. This is their second year of school impacted by the pandemic, and it's all they know since they are only in first grade. Despite the challenges faced by the ongoing pandemic, they continue to love school and love learning. They love reading, but haven't had the opportunities to read new literature and to read with peers. They love books and would be so grateful to have more options in our classroom library.
My Project
These resources are going to expand our classroom library. My students love reading and love being in school. We do Dyad reading where students read aloud with a partner. Having high interest books at their reading levels, will help students develop fluency, comprehension, and a continued love of reading. Letter tiles will be used during phonics instruction and will help students become better readers and writers.
These supplies will also help replenish some of the supplies that were lost during remote learning last year.
Chair pockets will help keep materials organized and will also allow students to have their own individual supplies nearby.
