Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my school community, there are exactly three classrooms with very large plexiglass windows on the inside of the building looking into a shared common area that we call "the fish bowl". In years past, we've covered these windows up with paper, drawings, etc. The covering of these windows has turned the common area from a "fish bowl" to a dark, unwelcoming space. Why? The only natural light was from the classrooms whose plexiglass windows allowed natural light from the other side of the classroom to pass through.

With the current state of affairs in America, I want our classrooms to be as safe as possible.

Should there be an intruder, I want to be able to pull down blackout shades that will prevent anyone from seeing into our classroom.

Otherwise, I want these windows to be unencumbered by messy, dirty, old paper that gets ripped and torn as the year goes on. And I want natural light to pass into the fish bowl area.

So please join me in donating to this project for blackout shades that can easily be pulled down to protect our students in case of an emergency.
