Help Mrs. T.

I teach junior English in a community which has moderate poverty. The students in my classroom have varying diversities. I don't mean diverse in race, but they are diverse in learning styles, family values, and socioeconomic status. Having a brand new set of books that is just for them would make them ecstatic!

As a part of the curriculum, junior English teachers are required to teach Hamlet. The problem is that there is only one set of 35 books for seven English teachers to share. The students that are in my classroom will need additional time with the books since they are not honors students but do plan on going to college.

This will benefit the students because analyzing and understanding Shakespeare's works will help them be able to analyze college material. The complex words will prompt higher order thinking, but since these particular books have translations as well, they'll be able to relate to the play a bit more.

You will make it possible for my students to gain insight to Shakespeare, larger vocabularies, analytical reading, and acting for learning. Without your help, the unit may be rushed and the students wouldn't be able to fully grasp and appreciate Hamlet.
