My Project

After the pandemic, many students came to school struggling to get back into a structured setting. As teachers, we have seen an uptick in problematic behaviors, having to submit many referrals on a weekly basis. This year, LHS has provided students with one period a week where they can choose a fun and engaging activity to be a part of.

I want to provide games to my English Learners, not only to help them improve their English skills by speaking English, but also by supporting them in making new friends.

Studies have shown that students who have positive relationships in schools are more likely to not only finish school but to graduate with a higher point average. My hope is to provide tools for my students to create lifelong relationships and feel connected to their peers and to this school.

From a small age, we use games to teach kids to learn. I firmly believe that at the high school level students can also learn a number of valuable lessons by playing games such as Uno and Jenga.
