My Students

My students are elementary aged special education students in district 75. Many of my students come from low income households. They require an enriched learning environment and strong individual support to succeed.

My students strive to overcome obstacles and achieve their educational and personal goals.

Each of my students has his or her own educational plan. In order to teach them to the best of my ability, a multitude of teaching tools are required to reach each individual student in the way that he or she uniquely learns.

My Project

A literacy rich environment will make a huge difference in my students' learning. These books will be the first books that I include in my classroom library! Having a classroom library is imperative for any successful classroom. As a first year teacher, I need many things for my students, books being a huge necessity.

Reading is one of the most fundamental parts of learning.

Providing my students with a literacy rich background will enable them to thrive in other curriculum areas by using the strategies and skills learned and applied during reading. A range of reading levels are necessary for my students due to each of my student's unique academic needs.
