Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most people remember math as being confusing and frustrating. I want to have my students remember math as being fun and exciting!

I teach middle school special education students in the NYC public school system.

They are middle-school students in one of the poorest congressional districts in the country. While my students are amazing, they sometimes need a little bit of extra help and support with accomplishing their goals.

My Project

I believe that with the extra help my students will get from the linking cubes and math manipulative library, they will better learn mathematical concepts. We will be able to give them something to really visualize and understand with these hands-on manipulatives. Many students are also kinesthetic learners and hands-on activities really help them succeed in learning their grade-level curriculum.

As a NYC public school in our neighborhood, we aren't always able to procure all of the supplies that we desire.

As a teacher, I believe that any additional supplies and activities will help our students succeed. Please help us reach our goals!
