Help me give my students Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headset to go on virtual field trips. They will be able to explore beyond the four walls of our STEM classroom!
Hello! I am the STEM teacher, and I teach children from Pre-K to 5th. I am looking forward to introducing the world of STEM to my students. It is so exciting to be teaching these children how to be real-world problem solvers using 21st-century skills. My students are 39% ELL. This is the first time in school for many of these students from other countries.
I also have an ICT class for each grade and a horizon, which is an 8:1:1 program for autistic children (K to 3) as well as three 12:1:1 (K to 4).
My school is also a Title I school, which qualifies 93% of the students for free lunch based on their economic status.
My Project
I would like to add the Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headsets to my classroom because the majority of my students have never been beyond their own neighborhood. I would like them to make real connections to the information I am teaching through virtual reality. I would love to show my students a real life rain forest or jungle when they are given the task to figure out why the Chalta trees aren't growing (2nd grade unit on plants and animal relationships) I would love for my first graders to actually see a sea turtle in its habitat and for my 5th graders to have the chance to explore outer space.
The addition of the Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headsets to my classroom would open up so many opportunities that my students wouldn't otherwise have.
The Oculus Go Virtual Reality Headset would bring the entire world to my students. How would you like to give the gift of these world experiences to my students? I know I would love to be able to!
