Teachers spend a lot of instructional time in front of the class between using their computers or, if they are lucky, the Promethean board. During the many phases of instruction, I would love to walk around the class to keep students focused and engaged with the lesson. Sometimes students need redirection by way of close proximity.
That's impossible considering instruction is given from the board or computer.
There are so many apps I would love to use that makes lessons interactive and allow teachers to become mobile during the many phases of learning. Whether that be before the lesson during attendance and monitoring, Do Nows (Bell ringers), during the input and modeling phase giving notes through Google Slides and Formative, the continuous walking around the class monitoring students during instruction, guided practice, and collaboration, a class tablet would be a great addition to the class.
Donating to this project with help to purchase a designated Surface Pro tablet allocated to the class. This tablet will not only help me become a mobile teacher but also put me in a position to better help my students.
