ESOL Students Need Materials!!!

My students need basic phonics materials, like a sight-words kit and a set of phonics teaching tiles. Since they are English language learners, most of them are FAR behind their grade-level peers. I'd like to catch them up!!

My Students

High-poverty English language learners are some of the most difficult students to successfully intervene for in the classroom. They are already far behind their peers when they enter the school system, and continue to fall further behind every year. They struggle especially with learning to read.

My students are AWESOME!

I teach K-4 English language learners in a Title I school. These are high-poverty students from non-English speaking families. They are so full of energy and they desire to learn and grow and thrive in America! Most of my students are at least a grade-level behind their peers and all of them struggle with reading.

My Project

The resources I have requested will allow my students to do a lot of hands-on phonics activities, to help them learn to read. They will be able to use the dry erase markers to write words and sentences on their own dry erase boards. The letters packs will allow them to get tactilely involved in learning the alphabet and how to form words. Finally, the wrap-up keys will let them use their tactile senses to further their learning!

I love working with English language learners!

My school is Title I and, like all Title I schools (and schools in general), there isn't enough money to go around. These materials would help my kids be more engaged in the learning process by allowing them more hands-on manipulatives to work with on a daily basis.
