This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students go to a Title I Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math school in Charlotte, NC. Although the students get introduced to 3D printers, drones, and Promethean tables, we do not have enough calculators to provide to students on an everyday basis (nor for the sixth grade end-of-grade assessment).
My Project
These calculators will be extremely beneficial as I teach in a Title I school where 100% of the students receive free lunch. Working calculators are scarce in the building as we only have about 10 functioning in my classroom. Students often have to use their laptops as calculators. Having the hand-held calculators will ensure that my students have the best chance at maximizing their potential.
Your donation will ensure that over 100 students reach their potential in math!
My students will use the calculators on a daily basis to solve problems, complete assignments and collaborate on projects. Thank you in advance for supporting my students and our next generation of leaders and mathematicians.
