Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Trenton, New Jersey, is a sanctuary city (and this is amazing!). Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of our students, both native and nonnative to Trenton, struggle to meet basic classroom needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they have a classroom filled with both essential items that they can access at any time and exciting project opportunities. Their social/emotional well-being depends on knowing that they are free to use basic items in our classroom that will not run out and that they have engaging projects that learners of any cultural background can enjoy!

The water and tissues I am requesting are for students who need to take a mental health moment to have a break from intense daily emotions.

These waters and tissues will go a long way in ensuring our students have basic needs that support their social-emotional learning. I am requesting these items for students to support their mental health and well-being. Students will be able to use them as needed!
