My Students

My school is working to cultivate book-loving, avid readers and enthusiastic learners.

Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child?

Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series.My school is trying to share that excitement and joy of waiting for and then finally devouring the newest books in their favorite series. To get them there, they need books that are accessible to all reading levels. My students are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to discover the newest adventures in their favorite book series.

My Project

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My school has taken on a reading initiative this year and I want to help to engage students who are struggling to find reading that is interesting to them and also accessible independently. This project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.

All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them the past few weeks of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading.
