Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to P.A.R.T.Y. P.A.R.T.Y in my class is to Pick Anything Read To Yourself. Every day, I try to create a literacy-rich environment where students are constantly reading and learning through books and technology. My Challenge: We only have 1 working computer!

My students are my happiness from 7:45-4:00 every day.

They inspire me to be a better person. Most of my students live in households where technology is not prevalent or available at all. Our school has WIFI, however we don't have working computers on a daily basis in our class for my students to use on a consistent basis. I believe that my kids come to school every day and rely on me to provide them opportunities that they usually wouldn't get otherwise.

My Project

I envision my students using the iPads to P.A.R.T.Y. on as I purchase (with my own money) ebooks for students to read. I also imagine my students working cooperatively in groups to solve problems, create solutions, and explore the world through technology on their new iPad. Often when I read novels with my students, besides basic comprehension that the curriculum requires, I enrich my students with in-class projects. I believe that these in-class projects teach students many valuable lessons. They need this opportunity.

My students already look forward to coming to school every day.

However, with an iPad to share, students will have that burning desire to take on new challenges and will have opportunities that will inspire them and teach them to work cooperatively.
