Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am excited to be in a 2-3 multi-age classroom. My students come from diverse background and each one brings a unique strength to share and make our classroom a true learning hub.

The goal for this year is to know what is compassion, practice compassion, and spread compassion to all that we interact with.

We will be reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacios and will close read to understand the underlying message of compassion and kindness that the book is drenched with.

I am very excited this year for my students as they learn to use technology to do research on various topics such as Animal Habitat and Adaptations. They will learn about primary sources and secondary sources and how to cite mentor work. Furthermore this year we are launching our new science curriculum - Project Lead The Way which is a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare my students as they move up the grades.

This year is full of new learnings and new beginnings!

My Project

My 2nd and 3rd graders must keep up with current events happenings in our world. They will not only read about news but will also learn reading and comprehension skills that the Time magazine provides.

My students are tomorrows leaders!

Them learning about current events both here and around the world will help build their general knowledge and help them make informed decisions as they continue their academic careers.

The internet is a great resource but it comes with with good and bad. However, the Time Magazine is a child safe resource that is the finest in a classroom setting!
