My Project

Adding The Hobbit, The Hobbit: Illustrated Edition, The Lord of the Rings series, and The Princess Bride to our 6th-grade classroom library will provide young readers with unique opportunities to explore both fantastical adventures and universal themes. These books act as windows, transporting students into worlds filled with heroic journeys, magical creatures, and extraordinary challenges. Tolkien’s Middle-earth and the whimsical realm of The Princess Bride spark curiosity and expand students' understanding of settings and cultures beyond their own.

These timeless tales act as windows to fantastical worlds and mirrors of our own lives, inspiring courage, empathy, and endless imagination for every 6th grader.

Simultaneously, these stories serve as mirrors, reflecting relatable experiences and emotions that resonate deeply with 6th graders. Frodo and Sam’s perseverance, Bilbo’s courage, and Westley and Buttercup’s loyalty mirror the struggles and values students face as they navigate growing up. These timeless narratives encourage self-reflection and connection, helping readers recognize their own bravery, resilience, and relationships.

Incorporating these literary gems into our classroom library will foster a dynamic reading environment where students can simultaneously explore diverse narratives and find validation in their personal experiences. They inspire empathy, spark creativity, and promote a love for storytelling, ensuring every reader finds both an escape and a reflection within their pages.
