Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At our school, we strive to find leaders in all our students. We are a Title I School with a large population of English Language Learners that focuses on motivating our diverse student population to have a growth mindset. Our students are developing the 6 C's global competencies (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, citizenship and character)skills needed to excel in life. We feel it is vital our student meet the Utah Core Standards in Physical Education.

My 1st-6th grade students are full of life and energy.

They are eager to take on any challenge that comes their way. I want to be able to give them the tools and develop the skills needed to become lifelong learners and find fitness for life. I want to make sure I provide a safe and healthy school for my students to learn in.

My Project

As educators, we want to teach our students to be lifelong learners. Gymnastics is a wonderful lifelong skill every students needs to learn. It builds confidence, strength, and balance. It also teaches spatial awareness and body control. Gymnastics skills also transfers to other sports.

Help me give my students these gymnastic mats so my students can safely perform gymnastics skills which will help them met Utah Core Standards in Physical Education.

Many of my students come from low income families and I want to provide them with an opportunity to learn gymnastics free of charge. These mats will allow my students to learn to perform the essential skills needed to live a healthy lifestyle.
