This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Please help my students with diverse needs relax in a sensory friendly classroom!! My students need to have a balance between releasing energy and relaxing to be able to regulate their sensory needs.

I teach ten amazing children with moderate to severe disabilities, grades 2nd -4th in a self-contained classroom.

They are eager to learn new things but need the help of sensory materials to integrate the information they get from the environment through different channels: smell, sight, touch, sound, movement and the pull of gravity on the body. My students need opportunities to exercise and relax to have sensory experiences that help them learn and respond to their environment in more complex ways.

My Project

I am asking for a trampoline and bean bags. My students need frequent breaks and a trampoline is the perfect equipment because it provides a fun way to exercise and be healthy. The bean bags will allow my students to have a sensory and comfortable seating. It will also help the ones with motor needs to relax, stretch and develop their muscles. Sensory objects will make it easier for my students to interact more productively and comfortably in motor activities or relaxing time.

These materials will have a positive impact on my students.

The increased opportunities to exercise and relax will motivate them to find more ways to focus and learn.These resources will provide the means to get sensory comfort and allow them to try their best all the time.
