Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will study plants the cycle of growing. This will include the following targets, focus on the basic plant life cycle, the essential needs of plants (sunlight, water, soil), different parts of a plant, and hands-on activities like planting seeds, observing germination, and keeping a plant journal to record observations over time. Students will learn the plant life cycle and needs, which includes, the seed, germination (sprouting), seeding, adult plants, and reproduction (flowers, fruit, and seeds) along with learning the importance of sunlight, water and soil. Students will also learn plant parts including, roots, stem, leaves, and flowers. With this project our students will be able to share the knowledge not only with family and friends, but also share it with the world and help our communities grow a more earth friendly environment.
