My Project

Every year I hold a class store for my students. Each week they try and earn money by being awesome! They could work extra hard on their school work, they could follow the rules extra good, they could show kindness when I am the only one watching. I pay them as I see them striving to do all these things.

They save their money all week and then they can cash in for smaller prizes like a piece of gum, or writing with a pen for the day.

Or they can save up and they can cash in for something really big like a Slinky bracelet or pizza.

I love how this is a great discipline system, I take money away when they do things that are disruptive to our learning. They strive hard to follow our classroom expectations so they don't have to pay me. But they are also learning about financial literacy at the same time.
