Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a social studies teacher at the largest middle school in New York city. Many of my students are new English leaners and reside in lower to middle income neighborhood. I want to provide my students with access to time magazine for kids to help increase their knowledge of current events and to help increase their Lexile levels by practicing reading. I hope to implement a weekly assignment based on the articles in Time magazine for kids. The education of history is my goal. My hope is that my students gain an appreciation for history.
