Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I elementary school located in Houston's diverse community of the East End. The majority of my students come from low-income households and some are recent immigrants. They bring a diverse culture to our school.

My students come from families with limited means and are eager to learn no matter the situation.

They love learning and cannot wait to go back to school! They really flourish in a classroom that is full of hands-on and engaging activities that allow them to problem solve and create.

My Project

I am eager to provide my students with their very own digital copy of TIME For Kids, for the start up of our online learning this school year. Once we return to campus, the students will receive their own hard copies of the magazine. Along with the magazines, the language arts, and history resources will provide my students with a variety of educational resources to keep them engage with virtual school.

Access to the magazines and teaching resources during distance learning will motivate my students to keep up to date with current events, practice their writing skills, and learn about the diverse history of our nation.
