My Students

My students are creative and fun loving. They use their strengths daily to grow socially and emotionally and love hands on activities! We recently wrote positive affirmations about each other and created a chain of love to support other students throughout the US. One student shared that she loved how silly and funny I was and that she didn’t know where she would be without a teacher like me. She made me cry but affirmed that teaching is the right profession for me! This is my way to give back and I love each of my students unique abilities!

My Project

Reading is fundamental to student development. It helps to build fluency, yield confidence and facilitates students being able to explain their thinking when asked higher order thinking questions. They sometimes struggle to pick up additional reading material after spending the day in the classroom because they feel like they need a break. Time magazine offers exciting content that is less like work and more like the break they need because not only are the visuals captivating but the content is interesting! My students will benefit from the variety of topics offered, improve their reading fluency and continue to learn outside of the classroom.
