Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students will have the world at their fingertips, literally with a TIME for Kids magazine subscription. I currently teach 29, 3rd graders in Illinois. Unfortunately many of these students do not get a chance to read a variety of materials at home, only what I can provide for them in class. These students need to be able to explore and read about what is going on in the world around them, not just their community.

This year I am doing a "centers" based literacy program where students will have the option of completing different stations based upon their need and interest in different reading activities. I would love to be able to offer them to sit on the carpet and pick up their very OWN magazine and read about the world around them in a way that is written just for them.

With a TIME for KIDS subscription, each and every one of my students will be able to read about the world, and take it home to share with their families. These students are not always given a lot, and by allowing them to take home and keep a magazine every week, it will be a real present that they will continue to get all year through!

You will make it possible for my kids to feel celebrated all year through with allowing them to take home the knowledge of the world around them, every week!
