My Students

I have a wonderful class of 2nd graders in Oregon! They are sweet, caring and full of life! They love learning and truly enjoy taking in new information. I teach in a high-poverty area so many of my students have access to reading only when they are at school. It is always a goal of mine to expose my students to as much text as possible. Time for Kids Magazine helps me do that!

Please help us access nonfiction text that is meaningful and engaging!

My Project

Last year my students used Time for Kids Magazine every week during our reading block and it was the biggest hit! I would love to be able to share this with my class again this year. Every year, it seems that more and more kids prefer reading nonfiction text. They love reading real text and taking in new information. Having these magazines will allow my students to not only read real world, pertinent information, but they will be able to learn new things.

This year, I am requesting the print and digital bundle.

I've never used the digital portion in the past because we haven't had the technology for it. But now, thanks to a grant, each one of my students will have a Google Chromebook in the classroom. The digital portion will help me integrate more technology into the classroom.

I love the versatility of these magazines. I can use them for small, teacher-led reading groups as well as for independent activities during our reading block. Thank you so much in advance for helping to fund this very important project for our classroom.

"Time for Kids" will not only provide engaging and relevant nonfiction text for my students to access, but it will also help to increase their reading skills.
