My Project

Have you ever tried to learn or make a decision when you are hungry? I know that it is so hard for me to make decisions or even be nice sometimes when I get too hungry. My 2nd graders come to school around 8:10, they have the option to grab a breakfast. We don't eat lunch for almost 4 hours later.

I am requesting snacks for my students so that our learning can continue without interruption.

Some of my students bring in their own snacks but many do not. The students who don't bring in in their own snacks are often so hungry, they can't concentrate. Our snack time in our classroom is a working snack where students are independently reading, listening to a read aloud or working on a task. After snack time, my students are more focused and ready to tackle their work. When my students aren't focusing on how hungry they are, they are able to concentrate on their work.

I am also requesting more dry erase markers. We use our whiteboards multiple times during the day and the markers get used up very quickly.

These snacks would allow all the learners in my classroom to continue to learn to the best of their ability!
