Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students come from different social-economic backgrounds and bring diversity, knowledge, and culture to our school. They are clever, creative, and passionate about their learning. With that being said, the majority of my students belong to low-income families with a high influx of new immigrants. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help them achieve success in the classroom, especially now that we are learning remotely. School has been closed since March 16th due to COVID-19 and will be closed for the remainder of the school year. A large number of my students do not have access to the supplies they need to be successful while working at home, such as stable internet. Limited internet access limits a student's learning potential, as they depend on printed packets to complete their work. Nevertheless, they continue to work hard to learn.

My Project

Please help me give my students the learning material for home, distance, or hybrid learning, given the circumstances due to the pandemic. Math students learn best from their mistakes and make connections to real-world problems. These notebooks, pencils, and paper, are essential to their growth as future problem solvers.

These school supplies will help my students learn and build soft skills, like organization and planning to be productive mathematicians.

By supporting this project, you will directly support my students' ability to take notes and build organizational skills that they would likely use now, in college and beyond.
