This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school and classes consists of multi-level learners. My students need multiple opportunities to learn in many different ways. They need care and support for issues at home that affect school. Most come from high crime and poverty-stricken areas in which one hundred percent of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Basic necessities are not often a given. In spite of their barriers, this has not stopped my students from wanting to learn. These students are a joy to work with and make me enjoy coming to school.
When returning to school in August 2021, it will have been 18 months since students have had an in-class face to face educational experience.
For many, it will also be the first time since spring 2020 that they will have met with their fellow scholars. My wish is for them to be able to freely interact without worry about necessities and lack of supplies being an issue while also upholding cleanliness and organization as habitual. As we gradually transition into the school building, it is imperative that students are welcome into an environment that is conducive to learning.
My Project
Using notebooks, storage bins, and other organizational items will assist students in being able to keep their work areas organized and promote a clean working environment free of congestion and minimizing germs. Students will be exposed to keeping their work space organized just like they keep their assignments and homework organized. The learning outcome is planned organization aids in concentration and comprehension. These organizational skills will allow the students to remain focused on different tasks, therefore allowing them to better utilize their time, energy, strength, mental capacity, and physical space.
