My Students

I teach in rural Nevada. The school I am at is 100% free breakfast/lunch program. A large portion of my school is hispanic, with many of them being second language learners. My school is preK-5, but as the music teacher, I only see K-5. We have over 500 students attending our school. I have had the privilege of teaching music to them for 11 years now, after spending 16 years in the regular education program.

I am so excited to see what Donors Choose can do for my music program, since I receive no annual budget for my class.

My Project

We LOVE music in our classroom! We have so many instruments to play ~ xylophones, drums, ukuleles, etc. However, we do NOT have any keyboards. For our classroom we have found the following item that would be perfect for our learning environment: Lujex Foldable 61-Key Flexible Soft Electric Digital Roll Up Keyboard Piano. It is prices at $39.99 on Amazon. We are hoping to purchase 15 of them, since some of our classes have over 30 students.

Being able to learn the piano keyboard will add one more dimension of musicianship to our menu of musical skills.
