My Students

There is an "art" in teaching and a "heart" in teaching, and I believe that with a perfect balance that all of my children will be successful. I strive to always motivate, encourage, and inspire my students to first believe in themselves and they can do anything!

My students are a group of 25 boys and girls from very mixed backgrounds.

More than half are from low-socioeconomic families who want the best for their children. Our school is a Title I community school, of approximately 650 students. My students are excited about learning and earning "BRAIN WRINKLES" each and everyday. They are full of energy and enthusiasm and all possess a really inquisitive nature. They are also a very caring group of children who are compassionate and giving to one another.

My Project

Virtual field trips to other places in their state and country.....PowerPoint's of their own writings and projects......math being modeled on the "Big Screen".......communication with other kindergarten students in another state.......music and movement via the computer .......these are the activities that I will be able to bring to my students with the projector. Everyday, I strive to challenge and engage my children by using numerous strategies. The projector will give me the freedom and ease of making learning powerful and meaningful to each one of my students regardless of their schema. I will be able to reach them all in a way that will motivate them 100 percent of the day. I will be able to integrate my digital camera and the projector to create PowerPoint's that show our classroom activities, thus aiding in the ongoing enhancement of our classroom community. Also, I will be able to impact the other 160 kindergarten students at our school by sharing ideas with fellow teachers.

Children are our future, and what I give them 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, must be the best!

The projector would assist me in reaching out to my students and giving them the best resources that are relevant and meaningful. I will be able to impact student learning and student character by creating lessons that have meaningful connections to themselves. I will be able to demonstrate concepts to the group which will free more time to work with individual students .
