Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a PhD in Immunology but am also a performing musician/songwriter. I would love to share my expertise with my students through Science and the Arts, which would require a decent computer.
Students do not have access to a dedicated powerful computer for my Biology Class or my Music Club.
An essential tool for both that is not something my school provides. This will be an enormous help and morale booster! I fully expect to share this computer with students as most of them are from economically deprived communities and often have no phone or computer to participate in class assignments requiring internet/ computer electronics.
For example: students will rely on this computer to conduct biocomputing assignments, some of which require a relatively powerful processor. Likewise, the music programs for recording will also need a computer of this sort, a key part of our musical production activities. These are but a couple of the essential applications for this technology- there are many more.
