Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my kids because they are truly kids at heart. They love to learn and they love experiencing new ideas and new ways of doing things.

Please support me and my colleague with a water cooler for each of our classrooms.

This will give our students access to fresh, cold water and will eliminate the lines in the hallway at the water fountain, which will also save precious instructional time during the school day.

The instructional minutes count in a school day. Every minute taken away hurts students. When students have to continuously take water breaks (especially in the warm months), it can take a lot of time because there are usually other classes in the hallway at the water fountain. There is only one water fountain per hallway. When another colleague escorts their whole class to the water fountain, we use even more time because we have to either wait or go back to class and return. We have tried water bottles, but the water can get warm and flat after sitting and often leaves puddles of water on the desks. With these water tanks, our students can get small quantities of water when needed, and it will always be fresh and cold.

These water tanks will help protect the instructional time because students can get fresh, cold water without disturbing the learning environment. They are also in better shape for learning because they are keeping themselves hydrated and alert.
