This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In third grade, learning cursive is now optional. I want my students to be able to learn cursive and use it with other subjects.

Also, my students love to do art in the classroom.

The task of cursive writing is considered a form of art by many individuals but sadly is also ignored in many classrooms currently. As an elementary educator I see the importance of incorporating multiple forms of art. Art crosses all learning curriculums and allows students to express themselves in ways that writing cannot provide. Art allows students to express emotion for the subjects they are learning. I am requesting cursive notebooks so that I can guide students and teach them how to use cursive handwriting.

Help give my students cursive writing notebooks they need in order to learn the lost art of cursive and be successful using this art for other curriculum projects!

My students will use these supplies to make meaningful art projects to strengthen their creativity as well as working in Science in order to connect art to standards.

I hope that DonorsChoose will feel that these items are indeed needed in the class for students to really shine.
