Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a student-centered classroom that is excited to take large leaps this school year! A typical day in my classroom revolves around hands-on activities and exploration for students to engage and grow independently.

My classroom is comprised of majority English Language Learners and 100% come from a Title I community (100% of our students are free or reduced-price lunch.)

Our students are very motivated and hard-working, which makes coming to work every day an exciting adventure. As a very ethnically diverse school in New York City, our students have a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Our students have a thirst for learning, and I aim to provide each child with the tools they need to be successful!

My Project

I am excited to welcome my third graders back into a new classroom environment! I am remodeling the old teachers lounge to become a classroom for the first time and want my students to have a rug, floor seats, a teacher whiteboard for modeling and supplies to dive into learning! Students will have a clean and safe environment with lysol sprays, cleaner and tissues.

Headphones will give my students access to technology in the classroom during independent centers and Google Classroom!

Dry erase markers and erasers make for a fun hands on way to represent our math knowledge every day. We are excited for a great school year!
