This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a Third Grade teacher in an ICT classroom, where at least 40% of the population consists of Students with Disabilities. My students strongly benefit from an organized and stimulating classroom environment where they are taught through the use of a variety of tools. We currently do not have a printer in our Third Grade classroom.
Printable resources are a necessary tool I find myself using frequently in all subject areas.
I rely on printable materials to teach my students how to navigate through a text and find the important information. Being able to write on, highlight, and manipulate the text is an important part of the reading comprehension process. Having a printer will give my students the freedom to print materials, reading passages, and research information to support the learning process in all subject areas.
Especially after working on a writing piece, it is important for students to feel proud of their published work by displaying it within the classroom, on bulletin boards, or showing a copy to their friends and family at home. A classroom printer will give us the opportunity to do this!
