Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 28 amazing students who inspire me each day to become a better teacher. These same children are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. They are from a low-income/high poverty school district.

When they enter the classroom, they become dreamers, scholars, explorers and problem solvers.

They leave the harsh reality of their life at the door. These children are our future, and despite the many challenges they face, they enter the classroom full of smiles, dreams, and a strong desire to learn. We start our morning everyday with singing and dancing to the song "Makin It". If you entered our classroom at this time, you would see each of them singing their hearts out.

Although their challenges have prevented them from getting ahead early in life and may not have provided them with the life experiences many of us take for granted, you would never know it. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire them to continue following their dreams and their journey as lifetime learners!

My Project

Chromebooks are an innovative way to discover the world, explore new concepts, reinforce lessons and achieve and remain academically competitive.

We will be also be utilizing them to facilitate learning through reading, writing and STEAM programs. In addition, the Chromebooks allow us to help students reinforce critical math skills that will enable strengthen Common Core Standard focus areas for maximum academic success.

The greatest impact of these Chromebooks will bring learning to life for students who struggle with many challenges both at home and in school. Please help my students who need to develop into 21st century learners. Help children improve their education, their lives, their community, and support their dreams!
