Help Mrs. Antkowiak

Hello! I am a 4th grade teacher in a Title I school. I teach reading and writing to almost 50 students each day. The majority of my students have little to no access to books outside of my classroom. I have spent countless hours, and even more money, putting together a very elaborate classroom library for my students. In fact, I have accumulated over 1,000 books! However, right now I can only let them check out one book at a time, because they have no place to keep any more than that.

I would love to be able to provide each of my students with a personal book box to store not only their personal libraries, but their Writer's Notebooks as well. They have been so excited to have access to the classroom library, but every day someone asks me when they will be able to check out more books. Right now, my answer has to be, "I don't know." Personal book boxes would give them each a place to keep their books, which means I could let them each check out up to 5 books at a time! This is the whole reason I have spent so much time and energy putting together my class library to begin with...to get books into the hands of my students!

To make this happen, I need enough book boxes for each of my students to have their own. Three sets of book boxes would solve my problem! Plus, they come in bright colors, so they would help brighten up our classroom as well!

This is where you come in! You can provide this seemingly simple resource for my classroom, and make an amazing impact with my students! Something as small as a storage place for a few books will provide them with the ability to have multiple books at their fingertips every day of the school year! For students like mine, this is HUGE!! I can't wait to send you pictures of my eager readers selecting the books that these new book boxes will hold!!
