Think, Build, Destroy, Repeat - Supplying our Maker Space
My students need an upgraded Makerspace, complete with more power drills, a digital projector, arduino sensors and materials for building like wood and pipe pieces.

Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students love to participate, learn and experiment. They come from a low-income under-served part of Los Angeles. 93% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The school is predominantly Latino, with a smaller population of African American and Filipino students.
My students love to learn by doing.
They make hypotheses and connections, do experiments and report back on the results. They understand the engineering cycle, and they work hard to continuously improve their results.
Most of all, my students are hard workers. They always impress me by how resourceful they are. They know that college and career readiness are their goals, and they are ready to change the odds in the inner city.
My Project
This year, we were lucky enough to be given a dedicated classroom to host our maker space. But just as our space has grown, so have our ambitions! My students are now arguing over who gets to use our one and only drill first. We have run out of wood to build our gliders. And we have big goals to win the arduino competition this year.
We need your help to take our maker space to the next level.
With your support, we will purchase 3 more drills, to create a drill station where students can work independently. We will buy wood and materials so student can continue to build awesome projects. And we will purchase 37 sensors, so we can build a project for an arduino design contest. You will also help us get a projector, so I can better display the ideas of the design process to the class.
Your contribution will help us compete and, hopefully, win our MESA engineering competitions. With your help, we can follow the engineering design process and think, build, destroy and repeat!
