My Students
Save the trees!! These are very tough times, especially for low income families. We ask for supplies for the year, but it's hard for parents to get them all. Slates and dry erase markers are a good way to help reduce the amount of paper required for scrape work. It helps make the notebook last longe
Our students come from low income families.
Our school is a Title 1 school in New York. We work very hard to supply the children with what they need. They are 4th grade ESL and IEP students. They are sweet children who struggle with learning and the English language. It is important to have different resources for the children to use. Using different materials keep the children engaged in learning. They always enjoy trying new things. The materials we are asking for will help the children and their families very much.
My Project
The resources I am requesting for the children of grade 4 are the dry erase markers. We use these markers on whiteboard slates. We use these materials on a daily basis. we use them when we are working with small groups, individual students, or when we are working with the class as a whole. The materials are mostly used during math lessons. The children use them to show their math calculations and thinking skills. We use them instead of wasting paper. Since we work with low income families the materials help by making their notebooks last longer, and reducing the amount of supplies the parents have to provide. The children learn a lot when working with the slates. It keeps them engaged simply because it is something different than paper. It helps them with their timing on basic math skills when we use it during math games.
Please help these children learn to the best of their ability.
These materials are great learning tools for the children. We would just like to provide them with some materials that they would enjoy, and that would make learning engaging for them. Thank you for all your help.
