This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

See It & Believe It!! Sometimes we forget that for children giving them a snapshot of our world is all it takes to get their imaginations running wild. An iPad for my middle school students would do just that. It would take them on an interactive ride through the science content.

My NYC middle school students come from low income households and attend a public school in the Bronx.

They are diverse and unique and lack exposure and opportunities to get their hands on amazing and interesting educational science materials. Additionally, many of our students are at the bottom tier for literacy which has led the creation of additionally obstacles for them overcome in the learning process. Finding interactive and more hands-on ways to get them "hooked" on science can truly be the key to keeping our students in the education system and on to successful futures.

My Project

"Actions Speak Louder than Words." Having an iPad in our science classroom will provide limitless opportunities to help science come alive every day. With all of the latest iPad apps that are science focused, students can take this technology as far as conducting science experiments in minutes. Students can use the iPad for instant data collection and analysis, multimedia clips, and countless interactive simulations. There are applications that can construct graphs and create tables and store data in seconds. Instead of saying... "Look in your textbook at that image...," we'd be able to get right onto the Internet and get a firsthand look at science through movies, articles, and state-of-the-art images. There is no end to the possibilities the iPad could offer my students. With the innovative iPad, learning in our science classroom could reach a whole new exciting and engaging level.

Helping to fund an iPad for the amazing students of our school will last a lifetime.

We all hold onto memories of exciting experiences we had in the classroom growing up. One can only imagine the enthusiastic grins and instant motivation the iPad will provide for my exceptional students. As teachers, we dedicate ourselves to doing all that we can to give our students the very best education possible. With the iPad, I can help take my students on a interactive science ride every day.
