Education is changing and we need to have the necessary tools for an excellent base for these changes. One of the concepts right now is STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
One way to integrate STEM in the Pre-K classroom is with open-ended hands-on building sets.
The Mobilo set I'm requesting will enable my students to design and build various vehicles. The PicassoTiles magnet block set, PicassoTiles building block set, and the Rainbow toyfrog building kit contain easy-to-manipulate items that teach spatial relationships, and problem-solving through creative building of 2D and 3D designs. Students learn so many things during centers outside of the skills explicitly reinforced by the manipulatives in front of them. They practice autonomy, social skills, language development, fine motor skills, and classroom procedures. Working in small groups they learn to work together and share their ideas and creativity.
