Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I will be teaching about 20 Kindergarten students, via in-person learning. I'm so excited to meet my Superhero Learners and begin the school year in a just a couple of weeks!

Kindergarteners are such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals.

Some of my students will be learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates will be learning to echo sounds or hold a pencil.

In this class, we will build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences. We will also celebrate what makes each of us unique and special!

My Project

These great books will will help set up my Kindergarten Superhero Learners for a fabulous and successful school year!

Walt Disney once said, "There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island."

Books are truly a classroom's treasure and the foundation of learning. Through this wish list I'm hoping to spruce up my classroom library in the hopes of inspiring each of my Superhero Learners to become independent readers. Included in this wish list is a combination of Read Aloud Books and Independent Reading Books.

The Read Aloud Books are are fabulous books that I can read to my Superhero Learners. Through these books we will learn about so many different things (animals, dancing, etc...) and have fun while doing so. Also, included on this wish list are some beginning-of-the-year books to help us with social-emotional learning and getting adjusted to a return to in-person learning.

The Independent Reading Books I have selected are important because learning to read is a complex and challenging task. My Superhero Learners need the right beginner books to help them on this journey and grow their love of reading.
