My very active and smart kindergarten class is learning Spanish in the Dual Immersion program. In the time that they've been in class, their Spanish vocabulary has grown. They enter our room with a smile and "Buenos días Señora Perez."
Most of my students are coming from English-only households that appreciate and encourage their child learning a second language.
I want to keep that enthusiasm up as the year progresses and keep them improving their Spanish vocabulary throughout the year and the years to come.
My Project
These manipulatives will help my little sweethearts learn through play.
Being five is hard, especially when only working with worksheets and pencils.
I want these items to help them understand concepts fully and when they increase their fine motor skills, they can transfer those skills learned onto paper and pencil.
The letter and number construction set will help them manipulate shapes to build letters and numbers and also improve those fine motor skills. The links will help them manipulate quantities and gain number concept.
Playing with word making game will help them become comfortable speaking Spanish with their peers and in turn, help them to speak Spanish outside of class.
