Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kiddos are exceptional students who are curious about the world around them. My students love to change up the pace during the day and they enjoy getting really creative with new things. Many of my students face challenges in their personal lives, but still come to school daily ready to learn and do their very best.

Being 5 years old and starting school comes with many challenges, especially during this uncertain time.

I want to be able to prepare my students for school whether we are in-person or virtual. For a kindergartener, this is already a very scary time and on top of everything else going on in the world right now, it is so important I can provide my students with the resources and tools they will need to thrive as new learners.

I have been a teacher for 5 years now and have loved every second of it. Unfortunately, many of the things I have been using have been gifted hand-me-downs from when I first started and are starting to get torn or broken from the years of use. I am hoping to replace these items for my students this year!

My Project

My students have been through a tough couple of years. As we look towards the 2021 school year, I strive to provide the most normal and kid-friendly environment I possibly can. I am planning to have a new classroom theme with a "rainbow of possibilities". My students deserve to walk into a well-maintained and very inviting classroom. With the help of your donations, I will complete a classroom transformation that offers lots of neutral colors to obtain a relaxing space where students feel excited and valued. The rainbow decor and neutral items, such as the lighting, will achieve this goal for my students.

Aside from the wonderful new environment, there are a lot of repeat items the kids need each year to be successful.

We will be using Expo markers to help them learn how to write their names, letters, and numbers. I will be using the acrylic holder to house my own Expo markers on the board to instruct my teaching as well.

Organization is also extremely important to maintaining a stress-free classroom environment so I will be using the record book and Flair pens to keep tracking of student growth and development throughout the course of this school year. The slot bin will also allow me to sort colored papers for student projects.

The kids deserve a brand new year ahead and with this project, it is my goal to provide that for them.
