Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 4th grade classroom is filled with amazing students who are excited to learn about the history of California and especially the very exciting Gold Rush period in the 1800s which seems like forever ago to them. This book will be a fun way to introduce the topic through nonfiction text.

The connections they make through reading this book and experiencing our annual Gold Rush Day will be an educational and memorable experience during their 4th grade year.

We will be able to increase our content area knowledge and vocabulary as we read to understand what happened during that time long ago.
