My students need a video camera to help them analyze, review, and improve their performance skills. All of my students are training to become theatre and film professionals.

My Students
My students are an enthusiastic set of students who are excited to study theatre and drama! They have participated in a rigorous audition process to join the program. Set in an urban neighborhood near Washington, DC, our students come from various neighborhoods in the district (sometimes more than 15 or 20 min away) to attend this school because of its arts focus.
These students wish to hone an artistic craft and are given rigorous instruction in various theatrical skills.
Many of them have dreams of becoming professional actors and performers and are putting in work beyond their normal school day almost daily.
My Project
In a performing arts program, students need to be able to critique their own work in order to improve it. Students are unable to do this without the chance to see what they themselves have performed. A video camera will give my class the opportunity to view, review, and discuss what they've performed in the hope that they will grow in the future.
Many students understand concepts on paper, but it is not until they have the chance to see and analyze their own work for improvement, that they can truly learn and use the skills they've learned in class.
