Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I chose for this project are specific for me to delve deeper into my practice. The books all touch base about the theatre world and how it can broaden my experience with my classroom. I am working on developing a system with my middle school students during the school year, where they focus on the preproduction of a theatre show. They will learn everything that it takes to get done before starting the design process of a show to then entering the production process which is rehearsals and creating the world to putting it on stage infront of an audience. They will also learn how to work behind the scenes to make sure that the show is running smoothly, as smoothly as a live performance can be, of course. I believe these tools will allow me to create a system where students can be prepared when they move on to high school and real world experiences if they continue to persue theatre as their career.
