Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at our school are some of the most creative, artistic, intelligent, and inspiring young people in the world! They are an eclectic bunch who ooze with creative spirit and who yearn to share their passion for the arts with the world!

Many of our students come from low-income families and as a result, approximately 70% receive free lunch every day.

Our kids need exposure to as many opportunities and materials that other schools in more affluent neighborhoods have at their disposal.

My Project

Our Theatre Arts students will be performing a number of productions this Spring (including "Beauty and the Beast") and we are working to strengthen our sound department by purchasing two boundary microphones so that our performances can be heard by the audience in our auditorium! With these microphones, our students can concentrate more on staying in character and appropriate line delivery more than having to project (or shout in our large auditorium) to have their voices heard. Our performances usually generate upwards of 500 people, and these boundary microphones would go a long way in assuring that everyone in attendance can hear their children perform!

This is our school's first year with a Theatre program and we are excited about the future.

Our students are so creative and talented and yearn to share their passion for the arts and theatre with the world.
