My Students

My students live in a small farming community in the mid-western United States. I want to use music and play to introduce them to the idea of a world beyond what they see everyday.

I teach 25 first graders in Indiana.

We are a small public school district where money is tight. The parents and the community do so much to support the school and the education of their children. I am looking for creative ways to help buy supplies to help my students see the world beyond what they see everyday!

My Project

The puzzles, maps, and music will help my students learn about different cultures and countries. I want my students to have a broad understanding of the world beyond what they see everyday. By using puzzles and music, we will foster skills that will help the students understand that we have different traditions, communities, and cultures but have similarities with others that live half-way around the world.
