My Students

My 4th grade math students at our school are very curious, ambitious, and cooperative! They come to school eager to learn new strategies and skills! Our school is nestled in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. Each scholar in my classroom absolutely loves learning. Due to the pandemic many of my scholars require extra supports for math and science. In the classroom I meet each student where they are and set goals for us to accomplish together. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies and technology to ensure that each student's needs are met. I have an amazing group of scholars and am thankful to have them. I am excited for what the rest of the year will bring!

My Project

These whiteboards, markers, and more will provide my scholars with the necessary tools needed to succeed in math and science this school year. With the impact of the pandemic many of my scholars are in need of more instructional support. My scholars have returned to the classroom after participating in virtual and hybrid learning since March 2020. They are excited to be in the classroom and I want to ensure that they receive an equitable education.

Math lessons will be taught using a specific math framework that elicit scholar voice, real world application, problem solving, and justification.

Students will participate in hands-on science lessons that elicit critical thinking and real world applications. Math and science are hands on subjects that require available resources. These materials and resources will be used to reach all scholars where they are!

Ms. Washington Ellwood Elementary School Grades 3-5
